Perched between the 2nd and 4th greens, Rock Man
dominates the landscape. Made of the problem
boulders generated by the construction of a golf
course in hilly post-glacial terrain, the large
rocks are testament to the collaborative efforts of
sculptor George Pichl and course designer Stephen
Sawyer. Rock man is accompanied by a number of
distinctly arranged large stones, the assembly of
which serves double duty as a protective device
from wild drives and wicked hooks from golf traffic
passing in close proximity to each other at this
particular point in the course.
